Kimchi Jjigae 🇰🇷

Hi! It's Seishu.

 

Today I cook Kimuchi Jjigae, Korean traditional hot pot dish.

 

It's salty-sweet and so yummy.

 

You can cook it easily using only ingredients being available at a supermarket.

 

Ingredients ( for 4 people)

A

  • 500g of kimchi
  • 250g of pork loin
  • 200g of chicken thigh
  • 1/2 block of tofu
  • 2 green onions
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 shungikus
  • 50g of maitake mushroom
  • 20g of bean sprout

B (soup)

  • 20g of dried anchovy
  • 2 green onion roots
  • 10cm of radish
  • 4x5 cmcm of kelp
  • 4 cups of water

C (seasonings)

  • 2 tsps of salt
  • 2 tsps of sugar
  • 2 tsps of dried chili pepper
  • 1 tbsp of gouchujang
  • 2 tsps of sesame oil

 

Method

 Simmer ingredients B and make soup

Put the kimchi into a hot pot

 Cut ingredients A if neccesary and add them except tofu

Add ingredients C and simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes

Add tofu and simmer for ten minutes further

 Hite beer, popular one in Korean goes well with this stew
